The name MONDO has its roots in “MONDO MOVIES", an Italian movie genre born in the 60’s. Mondo movies are characterized by documentary-like content that addresses several topics from around the world ("mondo"). Edizioni Mondo label has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. Edizioni Mondo is inspired by library music, a genre frequently used as theme or background music in radio, film and television in that very same period.
Numero 7 by the trusted in-house band Odeon pushed all the typical and beloved Mondo buttons. Accompanied by version from Roman ambient hitmaker Panoram (see his album on Firecracker for further reference) and label boss L.U.C.A. with one of his quirky dance mixes and the usual great artwork, this deserves a good place on every Balearic bookshelf. Keep your eyes open for the up and coming Odeon album „Galaxies“. Good listening!
